BLS for Healthcare Providers
This class covers 1 and 2 person rescue for adults, children, and infants in CPR, AED, choking, and the use of a bag-valve mask.
Intended for certified or non certified, licensed or non licensed, healthcare providers, such as:
EMT's
Physician’s assistants
Medical school residents
BLS for Healthcare Provider Renewal
This class is for students who have taken the healthcare provider course before, and wish to renew their healthcare provider card.
Length: Full Provider 4-6 hours depending on class size/location. Renewal takes 2-4 hours depending on class size/location.
Heartsaver CPR/AED (First Aid available also)
This class covers adult and child CPR, AED and choking.
Intended for all individuals who have a duty to respond to a cardiac emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, such as:
Police
Security Guards
Lifeguards
Massage Therapists
Also Ideal for workplace training, where having trained lay responders may prove invaluable for the safety of customers as well as employees, such as:
Restaurants
Shopping Malls
Nursing Homes
Fitness Centers Length: CPR/AED/First Aid 4-6 hours depending on class size/location. CPR/AED 4 hours depending on class size/location. Rescuers learn the skills of CPR and relief of foreign body airway obstruction. This class targets all lay rescuers, such as school children, family members of patients at risk for sudden cardiac death, new moms/dads and other lay persons who want to learn rescue skills for loved ones. The course teaches rescuers skills in CPR and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction. It presents information about the American Heart Association's (AHA) adult chain of survival and signs of heart attack, cardiac arrest, stroke and choking in adults. The course also presents information about the AHA pediatric infant and child chain of survival, signs of choking of infants and children, and prevention of sudden infant death syndrome. Heartsaver cards are not issued with this class but a Certificate of Completion will be distributed. Discounts are available for groups of 6 or more. * First time students are required to purchase an original American Heart Student Workbook. The Student Workbook must be available before, during, and after the course. Renewing students may bring their book from their previous course (most recent edition) or borrow from our library. Groups may purchase for each employee or choose to library several copies. Thursday night classes are held at the Holbrook Dalton Post (Route 139)
